Kiddo cooking at the kitchen table

SOO, Chloe woke up from her nap today asking to make cookies!

I had been wanting to make granola bars to take camping, but I didnt have enough oats. While in the pantry, I happened to glance on the shelf and look at the bag of museli. There is a chocolate chip cookie recipe on there! So we got all the ingredients, bowls and measuring cups and made cookies at the dining room table. Its easier and the kids seemed to get more involved than in the kitchen on stools. It was fun and we will bake like that again!

We thought these were super yummy! Its so warm here in Phoenix that we even decided to freeze a few so the chocolate would not be so runny, and they are good frozen, the cookies dont get too crunchy.

Chocolate Chip Muesli Cookies

2/3 C Applesauce
3/4 C Brown Sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp Vanilla (I used 2 tsps + an extra spoon flour)

3/4 C Sifted Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Salt

Dash of Cinnamon
Dash of Nutmeg

Spoonful of flax seed
Spoonful of sunflower seeds
Spoonful of sunflower seeds
1 C Chocolate Chips
1 C Bobs Red Mill Muesli

Blend applesauce, sugar & vanilla. Add in egg. In a seperate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon & nutmeg. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients. Then add the muesli, flax & sunflower seeds, raisins & choc chips.
Lightly grease a cookie sheet and drop dough by spoonfuls. Bake 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown. Transfer to wax paper.
