Unconditional Love?

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

Love
(n) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties,

unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another

You would think that parents would love their children unconditionally, right? At least I have always wondered, "how could I NOT love my children unconditionally, no matter what, for the rest of my life, and MAKE SURE THEY ALWAYS KNOW I LOVE THEM?" I know I will always love my kids and want to show them love, compassion, forgiveness, friendship and LOVE. Forever.

How could "some" parents act as though their children (one, a few, all) do not matter? How could they act as if their own flesh and blood, do not even exist? And also, how could they have love and friendship with their other children? How COULD YOU EVER pick and choose between your children, that you will treat some with love, compassion and forgiveness- and just write others off. .... or at least make it appear that way to anyone looking!

It is my LIFELONG GOAL to make sure I show my children everyday that I love them- and WHEN I mess up, that I make sure to make it right! Even when they are 20, 50, 100. To me, no matter what the age, the relationship between Mother, Father, Son, Daughter seems as though it will always matter...

And on top of that... it is my lifelong goal, prayer, whatever- to try and try again to: "Let all that (I) you do be done with love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)

Unconditional love.... maybe Jesus is the only one to ABSOLUTELY perfect that one...
